Congratulations  on your choice to inspect before purchasing. Weather or not you use a professional home inspector, its important to inspect the home. A home inspection is the most important step you can take to ensure possibly the largest purchase of your life. This DIY Home Inspection Kit was designed by our professional inspectors for the "do it yourself" home inspector. We put our many years of experience as professional home inspectors in to designing this reporting system, but, we made it so easy that even your mother could do an inspection. We even tested on my mom!

The idea behind the DIY (do it yourself) home inspection kit is that most buyers look at an average of five or more homes before purchasing. But, hiring a professional home inspector for every home you like may not be feasible. So, to make it easy, we came up with this kit. You should use the DIY kit for the homes you like to help decide whether or not to put in a offer or even to help prepare the offer. You may need to inspect 4 or 5 houses before you find the right one in the condition you expect. 

Use the reports to narrow down you search and make your offer. Once the offer is accepted, we suggest you then hire a professional home inspector. If your in Northeast Ohio, we suggest using DC Home Inspection Service (hint, hint). But, wherever you are, take the time to find a good professional home inspector. 

Keep your DIY Home Inspection report and compare it with your professional home inspectors report. If nothing else, it should help keep your professional home inspector on his toes knowing you have thoroughly looked this house over and inspected it yourself. But remember, a DIY Home Inspection should not take the place of a professional home inspection.

What's In The Kit

The Kit comes complete with 13 pages. A page for every major part of the house (i.e.: kitchens, bathrooms, heating, plumbing, roof, garage, etc...). Each page is then broken down into items you would expect to find within these pages (i.e.: Ground page would have: driveways, walks, retaining walls, porches, patios, decks, etc...). You are almost asked the questions in this report - it doesn't come any easier than that.
